Art KIT (Know Important Tools), is a workforce education program designed for artists looking to expand their careers by learning the business end of the Arts. Art KIT is aimed at serving artists in Santa Barbara County and the surrounding area.
Art KIT (Know Important Tools) is a workforce education program, now in its second year, developed by Adrienne De Guevara and hosted the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative. This program is part of SBAC’s mission to help artists thrive in our community. Designed by and for creatives this year’s first workshop will focus on Career Planning and Successful Time Management. Whether you are an emerging artist looking to find your niche or a seasoned artist wanting to pivot your career, Art KIT offers camaraderie, feedback, and practical exercises to help you get on track, change your track, or build a new one.
Art KIT is aimed at serving artists in Santa Barbara County and the surrounding area. Many artists either have never been exposed to basic business information, find it overwhelming to integrate it into their creative practice, or have been taken advantage of because they did not know how to value their work, thus creating a barrier to success. With these workshops, we intend to meet creatives where they are using innovative and immersive teaching techniques relevant to their unique practices. The focal point of this workshop series is to offer creatives a sense of agency over their professional and artistic desires while also building confidence in business practices.
