Eighth Annual Pianos on State Call for Entries

What is Pianos on State?

Pianos on State is an interactive musical experience that takes place during Arts and Humanities Month in October. The eighth annual installment will take place from October 2nd – 16h, 2017. Each piano will become its own piece of art as local professional Santa Barbara artists create individual looks. In order to make this community event a success, we need local artists to paint the pianos! We are seeking submissions this year from the community through a call for entries. As a public art program, this is an opportunity for emerging and professional artists alike to showcase their work through a unique project. The deadline for submission is August 31st.

How It Works

Each artist will be given a $150.00 stipend from Art Essentials to purchase materials to recreate a provided piano. Along with the stipend, artists will also be recognized on the Pianos on State website, banners, and all other marketing and publicity materials.  There is also a possibility of hosting an artist reception to take place at the Community Arts Workshop.
